Debt Elimination Plans
Good financial planning and budgeting are the tools of financial success. Everyone has the goal of debt free living. However, at some time you may find you are able to pay creditors on time or not be able to make even minimum payments on bills. Some of the reasons you may find yourself in this situation can be too much credit card debt, too many medical bills, a lack of understanding about budgets, or too much spending outside of paying your bills. In this case, you will find that you have a bad credit report with the reporting credit bureau. Your credit score may be very low, making it impossible to get credit anywhere.
If your debt overtakes your income, there are some resources available for debt help. You can contact all your creditors and ask them to allow you to make lower payments so you can catch up or they may even reduce the amount you owe. This action would give you debt reduction and credit repair if you make sure you pay all the new amounts on time every month. You would also avoid bankruptcy.
If you cannot do this on your own, you might seek credit services through a debt consolidation company that provides a debt negotiation program. The agency will contact all your credit card companies and negotiate lower monthly payments or debt settlement whereby the amount you owe is reduced. They may be able to negotiate with your credit card companies for lower monthly payments and a reduced debt amount.
The agency will help you with debt consolidation by having you make one payment monthly to the agency and then the agency will distribute the funds on your behalf. If you have a debt dispute over the amount you owe, they can help you with that as well. If those actions do not produce the result of successful debt management, you may need to file personal bankruptcy to obtain debt cancellation. This action should only be used as a last resort.
